Internship Description

Title of Position: Event Intern

 

Summary of Position:

The Event Intern partners with the Ministries and service departments to organize, coordinate, and execute conferences and events.

 

The ideal applicant will be skilled in handling a wide range of administrative and logistical tasks.  They will also be highly organized and good at multi-tasking.  Experience in planning events and coordination is required.  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be in their Junior or Senior year and in the PEMC program

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel and/or with aptitude to learn new software and systems

  • Ability to strategically and tactically organize and structure events

  • Capability to work with varying personalities

  • Able to work flexible hours

  • Able to provide three references and resume

Achievements:

            I have gained skills and knowledge in the areas of event planning, event implementation, leadership, service, teamwork, hospitality, and decision making.  I have helped work many events during my time as an intern, including a conference of 4000 attendees.  I was given the responsibility to submit and monitor all registrations for the Global Leadership Summit conference.  I also was able to be an Event Project Manager for the Gateway Student Conference.  For this conference, I helped with contacting vendors, ordering items, setup, and problem solving.  These experiences have allowed me to expand my knowledge and skills in event planning which will greatly support me in starting a new career.
